North Devon Homes spread festive cheer with Christmas hampers
Over the festive period, North Devon Homes bought a little extra festive joy to its customers with the delivery of 75 specially prepared hampers.
“At North Devon Homes, we work closely with our customers all year round to provide support, and we know how challenging 2024 was for so many.” Says Chief Executive, Martyn Gimber, “That’s why we were proud to continue our tradition of spreading festive cheer through our Christmas Hardship Fund. While Christmas is a time of celebration for many, for others it can bring challenges including loneliness, and financial strain. The ongoing cost-of-living crisis made it a tough year for a growing number of households, with many feeling overwhelmed by the difficult choices they face daily.”
The Hardship Fund was originally set up in 2020 to support customers impacted by the pandemic, the support has grown to provide help throughout the year, covering everything from winter fuel payments to the replacement of essential white goods.
Martyn continues, “Our staff nominated customers they felt would most benefit from a little extra care and festive cheer over Christmas. Each hamper was hand-delivered by members of our team in the run-up to Christmas. Our hardship fund and Christmas hampers are about more than just financial support—they’re about showing our customers that they’re not alone and that as a community landlord we support our customers not only with housing but we also care about their wellbeing. I’m incredibly proud of Team NDH for their dedication and generosity in supporting our community not only over Christmas but throughout the year. We’d also like to give a thank you to Tesco Barnstaple for donating 20 boxes of biscuits for the hampers and Atlas Packaging for their kind donation of the boxes.”
As we start 2025, North Devon Homes remains committed to supporting its customers in every way it can. Any customer who is struggling —whether with rent payments, household essentials, or other concerns— is encouraged to reach out for help and advice by calling 01271 312500 or emailing [email protected]
Martyn concludes, “I hope our small festive gesture reminds people that they’re not alone. Because when times are tough, community and kindness matter more than ever. From all of us at North Devon Homes, we wish you a Happy New Year.”
